Our Philosophy

We serve the homeless and working poor by developing trusting relationships.  We do this by accepting individuals as they are and offering them the opportunity and space to share their thoughts, feelings and talents.

In this, we focus on establishing trusting relationships so that we can address highly personal concerns and issues, emotional issues that stem from living on the streets.

We see ourselves as a family with each of us bringing individual strengths into play as we try to assist each person to find physical, mental, spiritual and emotional health in the unique context of his or her life.

As N.O.A.H. meets physical and emotional needs of impoverished individuals, it also helps to meet emotional needs of the surrounding community.

In effect, N.O.A.H. exists as a mediating structure where all types of persons can come together. We not only invite monetary support from the surrounding commuity, we offer a space for others to come and be filled emotionally, spiritually or otherwise.

While the individuals we see on a daily basis go through pain and suffering from living on the streets, others go through pain and suffering of loneliness and depression, feeling a lack of purpose in their lives.  N.O.A.H. has become a haven for people to gather together to fill each other's needs.

We aren't simply a social service agency, we get to be a life changer for many.  We exist to help others find purpose in their lives, so that perhaps through devevloping these trusting relationships our vision of an end to homelessness can come true.
