Social Services
We offer counseling, crisis intervention and assistance with immediate needs on a first come, first serve basis at the following times:
Monday 10:30-12:00 Nurse Practitioner on site
Tuesday 10:30-2:00
Wednesday 10:30-2:00 Thursday 10:30-12:00
Friday by appointment only
Please Note:
As social services are provided on a first come, first serve basis, those wishing to receive services are requested to show up early to get in line to receive services and asked to sign a social service list.
On Bag Lunch days (Mondays and Thursdays) we are typically busier than on other days. Clients must go through the bag lunch line and receive a meal ticket in order to go upstairs on the 2nd floor and sign up on the social service list.
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, clients are asked to sign up on the first floor at the receptionist's desk and are asked to wait patiently in the lobby while we see clients.
Social Services offered at N.O.A.H. are geared to assist people with emergency needs and include transportation assistance; prescription assistance; funding to assist clients in obtaining Michigan State ID, with doctor's co-pays; eye glasses; emergency dental work; food and clothing referrals; hygiene items; sock,s gloves, scarves, blankets, etc.
While the material goods provided at NOAH are undoubtly important and necessary, they are not the focus of the project. Instead, the assistance offered during social services and bag lunch days are merely the enticement to get people through N.O.A.H.’s door and keep them coming back.
Our goal at N.O.A.H. is to provide a sense of family, belonging and self-worth to those who are so often without it.
This sense of family is only possible when trusting relationships are developed and it is only when an individual has built up their own sense of self-value that they feel empowered to create change within their own lives.
