Bag Lunch Program

More than just a lunch, the Bag Lunch Program is the beginning of a relationship. The warm, safe space that is created where people are known by name can start a transformation. Offered Monday through Thursday, the Bag Lunch Program has served the downtown Detroit community for over 40 years.

We set transformation in motion first by welcoming participants to partake in our Bag Lunch Program. This meal is our main engagement strategy, designed to begin an ongoing relationship founded on trust and acceptance. It is open to anyone without qualifications or restrictions.

Lunches are provided by local churches, synagogues, companies, or civic groups who reserve a date.

The NOAH Project on Facebook

What's that? Two weeks from today marks the beginning of our annual Sock-It-To-Me September Drive?! That's right, and this year we've decided to add underwear. Although Socks may be our #1 requested item, underwear is a close 2nd, and we are often in low supply.

This year our goal is to collect 7,500 items (socks & underwear will be included together). The top donor will receive our new Golden Sock & Silver Skivvies Award! If you have any questions or would like for NOAH to come speak at your church, organization, or group, contact Angela at aloewen@noahprojectdetroit.org

*We've included this year's flyer below so that you can begin advertising.

For people who are truly living on the streets, getting into housing can be very difficult and oftentimes overwhelming. However, Street Outreach engages these individuals and builds trusting relationships with them, allowing NOAH to support these individuals as they go through the arduous housing process. Of the 106 individuals Street Outreach has engaged, over 60 of them, roughly 56%, have been housed or connected to a housing agency as a result of Street Outreach. It's the smiles on people's faces like James, who just received his keys, that remind us of the importance of meeting people where they are, and building trust and companionship. ...
